At Djalgala, we believe that teachers are lifelong learners, and we are committed to providing professional development learning opportunities for early learning educators and proficient-level teachers. Through our experience, we have observed that many teachers require additional support in integrating Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives into their learning environments and classrooms. We have designed professional development programs tailored to meet the needs of teachers and educators, helping them deepen their understanding, knowledge, and confidence in supporting the identity of First Nations children and families.
Furthermore, we aim to enhance the knowledge of non-Indigenous children about the first peoples of this Country and the world's oldest continuous living cultures.
Our programs empower educators to walk away with new ideas and inspiration for implementing Aboriginal perspectives into their school learning environments. They also equip teachers with practical tools to build authentic relationships with First Nations families and communities. Early Learning Professional Development
(2 hour face to face session)
Djalgala's Early Learning Professional Development program, is a comprehensive 2-hour face-to-face session dedicated to empowering educators with valuable insights and tools for creating inclusive and culturally sensitive learning environments. This program covers a range of essential topics, including the significance of Welcome to Country and Acknowledgement of Country, understanding Aboriginal Countries and language groups, and exploring the concept of Aboriginal Kinship.
By establishing a shared understanding within the team, we aim to better support First Nations children and families while embedding Aboriginal perspectives into the curriculum. Through interactive demonstrations, you'll discover how to seamlessly integrate Aboriginal perspectives into children's interests, promoting engagement and cultural understanding. Primary Teacher Professional Development

Djalgala's Primary Teacher Professional Development program is a 3-hour face-to-face session designed to enrich your cultural understanding and professional growth. This program meets the requirements of the NSW Education Standard Authority for maintaining proficient teacher accreditation (2.4.2).
